OUR POLICIES

Business for Development is an active participant of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), and is a signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct meaning that we are committed to adhering to its high standards of corporate governance, public accountability and financial management. Compliance is met by submitting an annual report for assessment against established criteria and completing a self-assessment process designed by ACFID.

More information about the Code is available by emailing ACFID or by phone: (02) 6285 1816. Complaints relating to alleged breaches of the Code of Conduct by any signatory agency can be made by any member of the public to the ACFID Code of Conduct Committee.

Business for Development has also an established Code of Conduct.

Our commitment to transparency: Business for Development is committed to being transparent in our work and accountable to our stakeholders and community. We are committed to disclosing timely, relevant and accurate information in an accessible format. 

Financial Management: Business for Development is committed to transparency and integrity in our financial management. This is demonstrated by external auditing of Business for Development’s finances by a registered company auditor. The resulting annual financial report is reviewed by the Board and made available to all stakeholders on our website. 

Governance Structure: Business for Development shares information regarding our governance structure, legal status and organisational purpose. 

Descriptions of significant programs, research and reports: Business for Development will disseminate information about results and lessons to all stakeholders – primary stakeholders, clients, partners and donors. 

 

Partners: Business for Development shares information of formal partnerships with other organisations. 

 

Organisational Policies: Business for Development shares organisational policies that are relevant to stakeholders external to the organisation.

How do we respond to requests for information? 

1. Acknowledge the sender's request for information once received. This may be by email notification. 

2. Confirm that the information requested is on the approved list for distribution. 

3. Collate information and send it to the requester.
